Homebuyer education

Homebuyer education courses can be extremely helpful to both first-time and experienced homebuyers, even when not required by your lender. These courses are available at no cost and can help you build a foundation for successful homeownership by giving you tools and strategies for managing these key areas:

  • Your money. Learn about budgeting (including developing and/or continuing a savings pattern), establishing and maintaining good credit, making wise credit decisions, discovering ways to save, and other financial strategies.
  • Your home. Get information about the home buying process, including tips for finding the home that’s right for you, loan program alternatives, and insights into the mortgage approval process.
  • Your future. Find out what to expect once you’ve become a homeowner. Topics include refinancing, foreclosure prevention, home maintenance, and ways to continue building financial knowledge.

Check with a Bank of America mortgage loan officer to find out which homebuyer education programs are available for the home loan you’re considering. Courses are free and may even be offered online for your convenience.
